Histon manager John Beck says he is pleased with what he has seen of on-trial striker Luke Medley.
The 20-year-old, who is a free agent after being released by Barnet, featured for the Stutes in a 2-0 friendly defeat by Stevenage Wednesday.
Beck told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "Luke showed me he's got a bit of pace, but he's not fit yet.
"He's got a bit of pace about him, a bit of strength. I'm very pleased with what I saw."
Medley has had spells with Bradford and Barnet as well a loan stint at Cambridge City.
The Stutes fielded a side littered with trialists against Borough, with Lee Smith, Erkan Okay and Antonio Murray the only recognised first-teamers.
Beck included four French players in his team, but has yet to decide whether any of them make the grade.
"We'll wait to see on that. What we have to do is look at our youngsters first," he said.
"There's been a few I've been really impressed with and we'll see what we can do with them."
One player who will feature for Histon this season is 19-year-old goalkeeper George Lawton.
He will act as back-up to first-choice stopper Joe Welch after Beck confirmed David Knight is on trial at York with the view to a loan move.
He added: "He more than fits the bill and at the moment he's putting Joe Welch under pressure."
