Fallon led Histon to four promotions and the BSP play-offs in 10 years
Histon chairman Tony Roach has confirmed that disagreements over the future of assistant manager Alan Lewer led to the sacking of Steve Fallon.
Fallon was only reinstated on Sunday after a month on gardening leave.
Roach told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I told Steve he could choose his own assistant, but not on the first day back in control of the team.
"Yet again he chose to disobey a direct order when I had written him a list of things he was not allowed to do."
Fallon was suspended on 7 December with Roach alleging he was asked to look at reducing four players' wages but "chose to tell the whole team that they were going to be released".
Neil Andrews, Jamie Barker, John Kennedy and Craig Pope were subsequently released.
Steve Fallon is history. He's done a great job, but I think he had gone as far as he could

Following discussions on Sunday, Fallon was reinstated, but Roach claims he broke the terms of their new agreement by confronting Lewer.
"Within 30 seconds of his first training session he had dismissed Alan Lewer in one way or another," he said.
"Personally I don't think that's right. There's right and wrong in life and that is wrong."
Fallon admits he was frustrated by Lewer's lack of support during his time away from the club, but denies threatening to sack him.
"I spoke to Alan before training and told him I was disappointed that he had made no contact with me," Fallon said.
"There was no reply from Alan. He just walked off and that was that, so I'm not sure what to expect."
Lewer, who was interim boss in Fallon's absence and is in charge again, confirmed the pair had spoken on Monday and says Fallon was upset with his behaviour.
"I had a chat with Steve and he didn't like the fact I hadn't phoned him since he'd been away, but he didn't even ring me to say he was suspended," he said.
"If I was suspended as a manager my first call would have been to my assistant, not the other way around."
Roach has grown increasingly close to Lewer during Fallon's suspension and says it became obvious he had to make a choice between Lewer and Fallon.
"I pay the money along with the rest of the board and we made the decision that we don't want Steve around," he said.
"I don't want him here and neither do the board. We don't want him causing trouble all the time.
"Steve Fallon is history. He's done a great job, but I think he had gone as far as he could."
Fallon had been at the Glass World for over a decade winning four promotions and taking the side from the Eastern Counties lead to the Blue Square Premier.
