Histon striker Danny Wright was relieved to have grabbed two goals in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Durham City.
The 24-year-old returned to the side after recovering from an ankle injury.
The win at the Glass World sees the Stutes through to the first round proper of the FA Cup to face Swindon Town on 8 November.
"It has been frustrating but I feel I have taken my chance to get back in the team," Wright told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

Swindon currently lie in 16th place in League One and Wright is hoping to be included in the starting 11 when the two sides clash.
"It's a massive game for the team and the club and hopefully I can prove in the next few games that I should be included," he added.
