He added: "It's a totally different animal this year and we even went down and met with someone in Plymouth.
In the next 10 days we hope to have the next breakthrough
Histon chairman Gareth Baldwin
"When you're travelling that far you're thinking 'that's definitely a relocation job'.
"We certainly haven't put any barriers in the way of people who are travelling and certainly in the next 10 days we hope to have the next breakthrough."
Baldwin said he hopes a seventh-place finish in the Blue Square Premier will encourage players to join.
"We're obviously the new kids on the block so last year people were probably looking and thinking 'I don't want to go there' because they're not sure what's going to happen," he said.
"We've now got a track record and while no one can get carried away with seventh in year one, certainly it's better than finishing fifth-bottom, just staying up and then trying to encourage people to come to us."
After Reeves' arrival at the Glass World Stadium Baldwin hopes more will soon follow.
He said: "The two players we're talking to at the moment have Football League experience so the challenge we always face with that is finance.
"But it's been surprising that we are quite an attractive option for people, purely because we are well organised and can always get people to give good references for us."
