Histon aim to keep striker Wright

Histon

Histon manager Steve Fallon is hopeful striker Danny Wright will start next season with the club despite interest from several Blue Square Premier clubs.

But he knows they may have to let go of Wright, who has scored 12 league goals this season, if the right offer came in.

Fallon said: "We're looking to strengthen, not to move players on."

However, he admitted: "Everyone has their price, but if Danny does go we want it to be on our terms"

The 23-year-old has attracted attention from a number of Histon's competitors.

But Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We're in no hurry to let him go and it's got to be right for us as a club to let anybody go.

"Just because we're where we are and who we are, that's not to say we're going to let players go cheaply.

We're not going to tinker too much as we want to finish as high as we can

"Hopefully, Danny will still be with us and we're looking at the January transfer window as the time when we'll have to decide whether we let Danny go or not."

The Stutes take on Crawley Town on Tuesday evening with defender Matt Langston set to start in place of Patrick Ada who picked up a knock against Northwich Victoria a week ago.

Fallon said: "We're not going to tinker to much as we want to as we want to finish as high as we can and make sure we finish the rest of the season unbeaten."
