Sunderland's Russell Anderson has talks with Hibernian
Anderson spent more than 10 years at his hometown club Aberdeen
Sunderland defender Russell Anderson held talks with Hibernian on Wednesday about a move to Easter Road.
The 31-year-old also has an offer on the table from an English Championship side and the former Aberdeen defender is now considering his options.
The Black Cats paid £1m to sign him from the Dons in June 2007.
However, injury and loss of form saw him make just two appearances for Sunderland before loan moves to Plymouth and Burnley.
Injury struck again while at Turf Moor and Anderson has not played a first team game since September 2008.
Anderson spent more than a decade at Pittodrie and won the last of his 11 Scotland caps as a substitute in a 1-1 friendly draw with Croatia in March 2008.
