Jamie Pitman to remain at Hereford United until January

Hereford United have extended the deal of caretaker manager Jamie Pitman until the end of the year.

Pitman was put in temporary charge in the aftermath of the sacking of Simon Davey and has so far led the team to five points from three league games.

Prior to his surprise promotion Pitman worked as the club's physio.

"Being physio is a real passion for me but after four games in charge I want the chance to prove I can tackle the big job," he told the club's website.

"The players have responded brilliantly. They've given me everything both in training and in the games," Pitman continued.

"The fans have been tremendous too. They've given everyone here such a lift and all I ask is for them to keep cheering and we will give it everything we've got."

Hereford remain bottom of the League Two table, but are just two points from safety.
