Hereford have signed Burton striker Lee Morris on a one-year deal after a successful trial with the club.
Morris, who played in the weekend's 0-0 draw with a Wolves XI at Edgar Street, had scored in his first three pre-season games for the Bulls.
The 29-year-old began his career at Sheffield United before moving to Derby in a deal worth around £3m in 1999.
He helped Burton to promotion to League Two last season but his deal ran out and contract negotiations stalled.
He has also played for Huddersfield, Leicester and Yeovil.
United manager John Trewick says he will not be panicked into any rash signings ahead of the new season.
The Bulls boss has the majority of his squad in place but is still keen to add a couple of players.
"We'll sort one or two situations out by the end of the week," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"But as I've always said, if I need to wait another week, two, three or five to get the right player then that's what I will do."
Hereford will play their penultimate warm-up match when they will host Bristol Rovers on Tuesday at 1945 BST.
