New injury woe for keeper Murray

Hereford United's on-loan Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray faces another injury setback after being carried off in the 3-0 defeat by MK Dons.

The 27-year-old joined the Bulls earlier this month after a long injury lay-off to get back to match fitness.

Hereford manager Graham Turner said: "His knee gave way under him and he looks in a bad way, he was fairly upset and it looks serious.

"After a couple of years of trying to get back we feel devastated for him."

Murray played his first senior game for 18 months as the Bulls beat Cheltenham two weeks ago.

The former England Under-21 keeper was splitting his week between training with Wolves and spending the build-up to Hereford's games with them.

Turner says he felt the Bulls were playing well until the injury, and a disputed penalty against his team.

"I thought for an hour we played well and had the better chances, we should have gone in a goal ahead.

"We had a harsh penalty against us but worst of all as the injury to Matt, it's devastated the dressing room.

Such is the nature of the game, when you are at the bottom you don't get the breaks

"That's the way it's been going we have had loan players injured, Lionel Ainsworth on Saturday and now Matt Murray.

"I thought we looked solid for an hour and it's as well as we played away from home.

"Whether the injury had a bearing, such is the nature of the game, when you are at the bottom you don't get the breaks."
