Smith was thrilled with Hereford's important win

Hereford United midfielder Ben Smith admitted the 2-0 victory against Crewe was a much-needed boost for everyone at Edgar Street.

"We're delighted with that because we've been disappointed by the first three games," he said.

"We knew we had to win and you could see that we realised you have to raise your game including the work rate.

"That was the key to the win - everyone worked really hard," Smith told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
