Kurskis arrived at Hearts from Lithuanian side FBK Kaunas |
An injury to Hearts goalkeeper Eduardas Kurskis could propel Craig Gordon back into the first-team squad. The recently signed Lithuanian, who has been on the bench for the last three SPL matches, damaged a shoulder in a reserve game with Motherwell.
Steve Banks has started the last four matches for Hearts, keeping Scotland international Gordon on the sidelines.
Gordon was among the substitutes for the Scottish Cup loss at Dunfermline but dropped out again at the weekend.
Kurskis had to be replaced after 34 minutes of the 1-0 defeat for Hearts reserves against their Motherwell counterparts.
Without another keeper on the bench, midfielder John Armstrong had to take over in goals.
"It was a bad one," Hearts assistant coach Stephen Frail told the club website.
"It was a nasty fall that he took, but most of the impact was on his shoulder so he's away with a grazed face and a bad shoulder injury.
"We'll have a look at him tomorrow morning but thankfully there wasn't anything wrong with his neck or his spine."
Head coach Valdas Ivanauskas has insisted Gordon will play again for the club and claimed his absence against Inverness was because he had been unsettled by recent transfer speculation.
Scotland Under-21 keeper Jamie MacDonald recently joined Queen of the South on loan so Gordon could be called upon for Saturday's home clash with St Mirren if Kurskis is unfit.
