McLeish vows to stick with Gordon
Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon
Gordon has played 19 times for Scotland
Scotland manager Alex McLeish has vowed to stick with Craig Gordon for March's clash with Georgia, even if Hearts continue to freeze the keeper out.

The 24-year-old was on among the substitutes for Saturday's Scottish Cup defeat at Dunfermline.

"I hope Craig's situation gets resolved," McLeish told BBC Sport at his first squad get-together in Troon.

"We will monitor his training regime. Whatever happens, Craig Gordon will, without doubt, be ready for that game."

Scotland take on Georgia at Hampden on 24 March as they look to stay on top of their qualifying group for Euro 2008.

Gordon, who has been capped 19 times for Scotland, has not featured in Hearts' last three matches.

Injury was blamed for the first two omissions, but it is thought that Hearts were keen to sell their prize asset in January.

"He's a mentallys strong lad," added McLeish. "Craig knows he is a great goalkeeper and he knows he is out of the team due to political reasons."
