Hartlepool United boss Wadsworth impressed by Donaldson
Donaldson made his Pools debut against Notts County on Tuesday
Hartlepool first-team coach Mick Wadsworth was impressed with on-loan Newcastle striker Ryan Donaldson in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Notts County.
The 19-year-old lasted 71 minutes of his debut at Victoria Park before being replaced by James Brown.
"His link-up play was good, he's got a good touch and appreciation around him," Wadsworth told BBC Tees.
"He worked hard, turned well with the ball and I expect him to get better and better and I know he will."
Huddersfield's participation in the FA Cup means that Pools have a free weekend, and a break in a two games a week schedule for the first time in a fortnight.
Results have reflected Pools' fatigue, with Tuesday's draw extending the run of games without a win to six, since their 4-2 win over Oldham on New Year's Day at Victoria Park.
"What we need to do is get back to where we were, we are probably 10%, 15% below par throughout the team," Wadsworth added.
"We're just not as bright and quick as we were, so the lads will get a well earned rest this weekend.
"All the players will get a couple of days off at least because it has been a particularly tough month."
Pools' next match comes against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on Tuesday, 1 February.
