DVD 'horror show' inspired Hartlepool - Mick Wadsworth
Pools have conceded just once in five away games this season
Hartlepool United caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth believes he may have found a solution to his side's miserable defensive form at Victoria Park.
Pools have conceded 15 goals in five home games, including five against Sheffield Wednesday, and four in the visit of Carlisle United.
"I showed the lads a DVD of the goals we've conceded, it's like Ben Hur, it's an epic," Wadsworth told BBC Tees.
"It was a horror show, and that was good, as they graphically saw it."
Wadsworth, whose side host Bradford in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday, added: "I said to the whole squad, put your hands up if you think you had a hand in losing a goal, and virtually everyone of them did, and that's good."
Pools' response was to record a 1-0 win at Plymouth, a result in keeping with their excellent form on the road.
The record of one defeat in five on their travels, with just one goal conceded, has yielded eight of the club's 12 points, in great contrast to the home form.
"I can't explain it I can't tell you, 30 years [of experience], it's a conundrum wrapped in a mystery, which is also wrapped in an enigma," Wadsworth said of his side's Jekyll and Hyde form.
"We need to get this home thing right, the lads are raging at each other.
"They're the ones that need to grasp it, because we set the team up the same.
"We intend to do the same things, be as tight as we are at home, but we made horrendous mistakes."
