Turner has seen his side lose their last four matches in League One
Hartlepool United manager Chris Turner has backed his side to overcome their relegation fears, despite slipping to within four points of the drop zone.
Saturday's 3-2 loss at home to Millwall left Pools in 15th place, but Turner is confident that his side will ensure their League One safety this season.
"If the players give that effort in the last seven games we'll get enough points," he told BBC Tees.
"There's no way we deserved not to get something from the Millwall game."
The defeat was Pools' fourth in a row in League One, and they have conceded nine goals in that time.
Kenny Jackett's Lions were the latest to take full advantage of Pools' defensive lapses, as striker Neil Harris notched a hat-trick.
And Turner admits it is their lack of concentration when containing teams that is undoing their positive work in the attacking third.
"We set the standard again this afternoon in terms of going forward and stamping our authority on the game," he said.
"The supporters wanted a performance after last Saturday's game against Cheltenham but it was our Achilles heel all season of conceding poor goals, and unfortunately it has been costly."
