Paul Hayes scored twice as Scunthorpe clinched a dramatic win at Hartlepool to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Grant Mcann's deflected free-kick put the Iron ahead but Michael Nelson made it 1-1 from Andy Monkhouse's free-kick.

Scunthorpe regained the lead when Nelson's back-header fell short and Gary Hooper set up Hayes to tap home.

Daniel Nardiello met Richie Jones's cross to level again but Hayes snatched a late winner, firing home the rebound after Hooper's shot had hit the post.
