Turner remains director of football at Victoria Park as well as being caretaker manager
Hartlepool United caretaker manager Chris Turner has expressed his sympathy for former boss Danny Wilson after his departure from the club last week.
With no official announcement as to the reasons surrounding Wilson's removal as manager at Victoria Park, Turner admitted he too was unable to comment.
"The situation is contractual between the club and Danny," he told BBC Tees.
"I've had it done to me. Unfortunately that's football - the owners make a decision and that's the way it is."
Wilson left Victoria Park on 15 December after two-and-a-half years in charge.
Pools responded well to the loss of their manager, beating Southend 3-0 on Friday to climb up to 11th place in League One.
And Turner, who remains director of football at Victoria Park, was quick to praise the contribution of winger Matty Robson after his spectacular strike lit-up the game and helped Pools on their way to a first league win in six matches.
"It's all about confidence with Matty. He's had his criticism from the crowd in the past and that's knocked him a bit," he said.
"I think when Danny [Wilson] put him in a couple of weeks ago he deserved to his chance.
"He's shown what he can do, he's capped it with a goal and if he can keep growing in confidence then he'll show the potential he's had for years."
