Hartlepool United manager Danny Wilson hopes striker Kevin Kyle will flourish after scoring his first Pools goals in Tuesday's 5-3 defeat of Huddersfield.

Kyle, 27, has now scored twice in four appearances since joining on loan from Coventry in early October and Wilson is confident he can continue that run.

"The more games he has the better positions he'll pick up and he'll have more understanding," he told BBC Tees.

"When he gets in that box he's a real handful, the full-back had no chance."

Pools have become one of League One's most entertaining sides to watch, and Tuesday's five-goal haul took their tally for the season to 19 at Victoria Park, and 24 overall.

And Wilson believes that confidence in scoring vital goals is starting to flood through his players and is being now reflected in results.

"We always know we're going to score goals, opportunities are arising at the moment and our strikers are taking them," he said.

"We've been behind three times, we've come back to level it and forced ourselves in front at the end.

"The confidence is sky high at the moment."
