Iriekpen was released by Bristol City at the end of the season
Izzy Iriekpen has signed for Hamilton Accies after the defender was released by Bristol City.
The 27-year-old, who played in a 1-1 draw with Drogheda United in Sunday's friendly, has signed a two-year contract at New Douglas Park.
Accies had failed in a bid to sign Iriekpen in January after he left Scunthorpe United.
He instead joined Bristol City on a short-term deal, going on to make nine appearances, five as a substitute.
However, talks broke down about a new contract, with the English Championship club saying he had failed to prove his fitness.
Iriekpen began his career with West Ham and, after loan spells with Leyton Orient and Cambridge United, moved to Swansea City.
After four years with the Welsh club, Iriekpen had 18 months with Scunthorpe before joining City in the Coca-Cola Championship.
He and his new Accies team-mates had to come from behind against League of Ireland Premier Division side Drogheda at United Park.
Brendan McGill had opened the scoring for the home side just before the break, with Simon Mensing heading the equaliser from a Derek Lyle cross early after the break.
Hamilton next take on League of Ireland First Division side outfit UCD at Bellfield on Tuesday.
