Striker Nathan Jarman leaves Grimsby by mutual consent

Grimsby Town

Grimsby Town striker Nathan Jarman has had his contract with the club terminated by mutual consent.

The 23-year-old made over 40 appearances for the Mariners after joining on a free transfer from Barnsley in 2007.

But he has struggled to hold down a first-team place this season after breaking his foot in October.

He has not featured for the first team since being sent off against Macclesfield back in February.

Scunthorpe-born Jarman had been training with the youth team since April.

At the time, Mariners manager Neil Woods admitted to the Grimsby Telegraph that Jarman had "maybe" played his last game for the club, after the striker revealed his frustrations about not being picked for the reserves on a social networking site.
