Grimsby Town have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Javan Vidal on an initial one-month loan.

The 19-year-old England Under-19 international is comfortable playing at both right-back and right-midfield.

Vidal is yet to make a first-team appearance for City but is a regular for their reserve team.

The youngster will go straight into the Mariners' squad for their Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Chesterfield on Wednesday night.

The defender was part of the Manchester City youth team which reached the 2006 FA Youth Cup final.
