Grays Athletic have been ordered to pay the wages of jailed former player Ashley Sestanovich after losing an appeal against the initial ruling.

The club had contested the Football Association's judgment they should pay �14,000 to the player.

Grays terminated the player's contract before he was jailed, but the FA said this was a breach of its regulations.

Chairman Mick Woodward has refused to foot the bill, but a local businessman has said he will pay it instead.
