The Football Association insists Grays will be suspended from football if they do not pay a jailed ex-player unpaid wages of 14,000 by Wednesday. Grays chairman Mick Woodward had hoped the FA would overturn their decision regarding Ashley Sestanovich on Monday.
But an FA statement to BBC Essex read: "The meeting with Grays on Monday will not be a negotiation of the order.
"Their failure to comply has given the FA no choice but to suspend them from all football from next Wednesday."
Grays were told to pay-up after sacking the midfielder before his conviction for conspiracy to rob.
An FA disciplinary hearing ruled they were in breach of the game's regulations.
