Ebbsfleet United insist they are not in a hurry to replace striker John Akinde if he leaves to play league football.
The members of the website myfootballclub are voting on whether to accept a 140,000 offer for the teenager from an unnamed league side.
With the transfer window closing on Monday it does not leave a lot of time for the Fleet to find another forward.
"We won't go out there and rush to get someone in," assistant manager Alan Kimble told BBC Radio Kent.
"If he's the right player for the club then we'll get him in.
"We're keeping our options open between now and the transfer deadline."
The non-league side's manager Liam Daish and board has recommended Akinde should be sold to allow him to play at a higher level.
