Gillingham have handed a trial to former Ajax midfielder Stanley Aborah.
The 23-year-old, who has Belgian and Ghanaian joint-nationality, played in the Champions League when he was 17.
He has also represented Belgium at under-19 level but more recently played for AS Trecin in the second division of the Slovakian league.
Manager Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent: "He's played at Ajax - he's supposed to be the real deal so it's another option."
He added: "He's another trialist, a midfield player - you've just got to give these people a chance because you never know."
Aborah is expected to play in the pre-season friendly at Dartford on Tuesday.
Gillingham have already told trialists Romuald Boco and Lewis Young they will not be offered deals.
The Gills lost their first two pre-season games 2-1 to both Braintree Town and Bromley.
