Gillingham midfielder Adam Miller has defended team-mate Dennis Oli following his dismissal against MK Dons.

Miller scored the Gills' first equaliser before Oli was sent-off for a second caution just before the break.

"Dennis is not a malicious player. It was a typical lunge from a forward," Miller told BBC Radio Kent.

"The left-back made the most of it. It was a poor decision. We twice went behind and once we might have crumbled, but we're growing in confidence."

Meanwhile MK Dons manager Paul Ince has confirmed that he will lodge an appeal after being sent to the stands for his protest at Gillingham's second equaliser.

Andy Barcham scored in the 65th minute to earn the home side a point with a 2-2 draw.
