Gillingham's new loan striker Rene Howe says his stay could become permanent and insists he does not want to play for parent club Peterborough.

The 23-year-old signed for Posh in 2007 but has spent most of his time with the club out on loan.

He told BBC Radio Kent: "I've never had a good time there and I'm ready to get out of there.

"They don't like me and I'm not really interested in being there. I want to play under people who want me."

He added: "I want to be somewhere where I'm wanted and Gillingham have shown that. They want me and that's why I'm here. "

Howe signed joined Posh from Kettering and has had previous loan spells at Lincoln, Rochdale and Morecambe.
