Gills boss hints at new signings

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson says he could make two or three new signings in the next few days.

One arrival looks likely to be former Charlton midfielder Rashid Yussuff, who scored in the Gills' 5-0 pre-season win over Faversham on Thursday.

Watford left-back Jordan Parkes, 19, and Sam Long have also impressed.

"I'm hoping over the weekend or early next week, we'll do something with three of them, if not, definitely two of them," Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.

Yussuff, who is commonly referred to by his middle name, Toks, had spells on loan at Ebbsfleet and Northwich Victoria last season.

Stimson said: "The boy, Toks - his goal was absolutely outstanding, the composure he showed with his left foot and his athleticism.

"I'll probably be sitting down with the chairman trying to put a deal on the table for him because he's done that well.

"The other lad - Jordan Parkes - he's contracted to Watford for two years, so if we do anything there it would be a loan.

"And young Sam Long - he's got a good opportunity to be offered something as well."
