Rain thwarts Glamorgan and Kent

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO, The Swalec Stadium:
CLOSE OF PLAY, DAY TWO: Glamorgan 317 Kent 52-1
(Glamorgan 3pts, Kent 3pts)
15 - 18 July 2009

Glamorgan v Kent

Barely 20 overs were bowled on day two at the Swalec Stadium as Glamorgan and Kent were frustrated by rain.

In the play that was possible, the home side added 22 to their overnight 295-8 to collect a third batting bonus point before being dismissed for 317.

Ryan McLaren trapped Dean Cosker leg before to finish with figures of 4-51.

Robert Key (27no) and Geraint Jones (24no) added an unbroken 42 for the second wicket as Kent reached 52-1 before rain forced an early close.

Joe Denly was the early casualty of Kent's reply, trapped leg before by James Harris for just a single.
