Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has dismissed accusations that defender Garry Richards head-butted Brentford's Nathan Elder during their 1-1 draw.
Bees boss Andy Scott said after the match he would report Richards for the alleged incident during the brawl which saw Elder get a red card.
"I saw it, all my bench saw it, the fourth official saw it," said Scott.
But Stimson told BBC Radio Kent: "I'd be surprised if Garry did that because I thought he had a steady game."
He added: "If the officials had seen it he would have been sent off and he wasn't.
"In that incident I thought John Nutter should have tackled strong on the right winger, he didn't.
"All of a sudden the ball popped around and there was a little fracas with five players and that turned into 22 players.
"From there I couldn't see what was going on and all I saw was Elder coming towards the bench with his shirt ripped."
Scott added: "We will certainly be making a point to the Football Association that Richards should be banned after what he did.
"All we are looking for is a bit of fairness from the officials."
