Gillingham midfielder Adam Miller has insisted he will not let abuse from fans ruin his career at Priestfield.
The 26-year-old, who scored his third goal of the season in their victory over Chesterfield, has been left baffled by the boos and jeers he gets.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "I think it's very poor when you get booed off, jeered off and singled out. I just think that's disgusting.
"But I'm too mentally strong for any of them to break me."
Miller added: "If they want to do that, then stay at home. If they're a bit hen-pecked then stay at home and have a row with the Mrs.
"If they want to have a go, I'll tell them now they can crack on, but they won't break me.
Gills manager Mark Stimson said he felt many fans have a problem with Miller because he has come from non-league football.
"If you look at his games and his goals and his assists he hasn't done badly and there's a lot more from him to come," said Stimson.
"I've worked with him for a few years and I know what he's like.
"If you tell him he's the best, you'll get more out of him.
"He'll slowly win them round but it won't affect him because he's a strong character."
