Gillingham assistant boss Scott Barrett admitted the club must perform a balancing act with its playing staff because of financial constraints.

While Spurs youngster Charlie Daniels is join has joined the club on loan, Stuart Lewis and Nicky Southall could be on their way out on loan.

Barrett told BBC Radio Kent: "We are not flushed with money so again we've got to balance the books.

"But if we can bring players in, then that is what we will do."

Daniels is a 21-year-old left-sided midfielder, who was on loan at Leyton Orient for much of last season.
