Gillingham players free to move

Mark Stimson
Stimson has loaned Andy Pugh to Folkestone for a month

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson wants to send some of his first-team squad out on loan.

Striker Andy Pugh has joined Folkestone Invicta for a month and Stimson would like Charlie Howard, Tayler Thomas and Rory Hill to follow suit.

He told BBC Radio Kent: "If we can get them out and get some experience it would be good for them."

"We've only got two reserve team games in a month. If they can play Conference South or below it would help."

He added: "If they played four or five games it would help them. It would also help to balance the finances."

Midfielder Stuart Thurgood looked like leaving the club recently but that now looks less likely.

Stimson said: "It's gone a bit stale, he was talking to Dagenham and Grays. Dagenham had a good win so it's gone a bit quiet and I haven't heard from Grays."
