Dartford boss Tony Burman hits out at Adam Burchell ban

Non-League

Dartford boss Tony Burman has condemned the 35-day ban imposed on Adam Burchell by Kent County Football Association.

The striker, who recently moved to Kent rivals Tonbridge, received the ban for allegedly swearing during an under-21 match at Whitstable.

Burman told BBC Radio Kent: "It's a man's game and swearing on the pitch is commonplace. So I think the ban imposed is too much.

"That's why I asked the authorities to be lenient."

Kent County FA chief executive Keith Masters said: "According to the referee's report, the player made a remark to one of the referee's assistants."

Dartford's 1-0 win away to third placed Boreham Wood on Saturday gave them a 12-point lead at the top of the Ryman League's Premier Division. It was also their 11th win in 12 games, putting them on course for promotion to the Blue Square South.
