Gateshead manager Ian Bogie has revealed that the club remain keen to sign Stalybridge Celtic striker Phil Marsh, despite having a bid rejected.
The 24-year-old, who began his career at Manchester United, has scored 17 goals in 21 appearances for the Blue Square Bet North club this season.
"He's on a contract at Bower Fold until the end of next season," said Bogie.
"He is the type of striker we are looking for, with a good goalscoring record this season."
Marsh also lists Blackpool, Northwich Victoria, Leigh Genesis and FC United of Manchester among his former clubs.
