Forest Green have refused to confirm speculation one of the country's top green energy businessmen could be about to take over the cash-strapped club.

Dale Vince is the managing director of Stroud firm Ecotricity and has been seen at the New Lawn during pre-season.

Rovers unveiled the Coventry Building Society as their new shirt sponsors in late July and have also been hoping to announce a new six-figure investor.

The club issued a "no comment", while Vince has so far been unavailable.
