Ex-Stroud MP David Drew joins Forest Green Rovers board

David Drew
Drew is a Rovers shareholder and was a Labour MP for 13 years

Former Stroud MP David Drew has been appointed as non-executive chairman at Forest Green Rovers.

Drew lost his seat to Conservative Neil Carmichael at the general election.

He will take the role for a year after a new board of directors was elected at the club's AGM. Former chairman Trevor Horsley remains on the board.

Four new directors - Glenn Hurley, Jamie Ponting, Rob Walker and Tom Williams - join the Board, replacing Jennie and Martin Anns and Bob Savage.

Forest Green were relegated from the Blue Square Premier this season but could stay up if Salisbury fail in an appeal against their own demotion.
