Fleetwood have signed Northwich Victoria defender Junior Brown on a one-year contract.

The 21-year-old will compete with veteran Alan Wright for the left-back slot at the newly-promoted Blue Square Bet Premier club.

Boss Micky Mellon said: "Junior is a very exciting signing for the club.

"He's a player I've admired for some time. He's very athletic and very good on the ball. He has all the attributes to do very well at Fleetwood Town."

Brown said: "The club has a quality left-back in place at the moment but I'm coming on the back of a good season.

"It's up to me to have a good pre-season and put myself ahead."
