Exeter manager Paul Tisdale was pleased with how Richard Logan played in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Bury after being left out for the past two months.
Logan had not featured since their 3-2 defeat at Curzon Ashton in the FA Cup, where he was substituted at half time.
Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon: "He's done well in training and it's no coincidence that when he puts that sort of effort in his performance picks up.
"He deserved to come out of the side but thoroughly deserved his start."
Tisdale added: "He put in a creditable performance and hopefully we'll get more from him in the next few weeks."
