Boyhood Everton fan Carlo Nash has described signing for the club on transfer deadline-day as 'amazing'.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with the option for a third year.
"It's amazing. I'm very proud and when I found out they were interested in me I never had a second thought," Nash told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"I always hoped [to play for Everton] but I never thought it would materialise as my career went on."
Nash has signed from Wigan primarily as cover for USA international Tim Howard.
He acknowledges he faces an uphill task to displace Howard but feels he is mentally strong enough to play when needed, even if that does come after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
"It is a difficult task but the more your career moves on you get used to knowing what to do and what training you need and things like that.
"You have got to be ready when you get the call so it's just a case of working hard and putting in the training."
