Van der Meyde was an unused sub during Everton's win over Wigan |
Everton's Dutch international Andy van der Meyde has been suspended by the Premier League leaders following a "breach of club discipline". Midfielder Van der Meyde, 27, failed to appear at training on Sunday, a day after Everton's 2-1 win over Wigan.
"He has been suspended for a week and handed the maximum fine possible," said a statement on their website.
Boss David Moyes added: "Andy has had numerous warnings about this type of thing - we won't tolerate it any more."

Moyes continued: "I will make a decision regarding the player's future next week."
Holland winger Van der Meyde was not involved in the squad for Tuesday's 3-1 win at Tottenham and will not feature in Saturday's trip to Reading.
The former Ajax man arrived at Goodison Park from Inter Milan in 2005, but has failed to impress, playing only 18 league games in two seasons.
