Liam Daish plays down Ebbsfleet United formation switch
Daish's Ebbsfleet side won the FA Trophy in 2008
Ebbsfleet United manager Liam Daish insisted his players and not his change of tactics helped them secure their first home win of the season.
The Fleet beat Bath 3-0 on Tuesday to go 19th in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
Daish switched to a 3-5-2 formation for the match and told BBC Radio Kent: "You've got to be bold sometimes and make a change in the system.
"At the end of the day, it's not the system, it's the players. They make systems work."
He added: "I thought three at the back gave us a good foundation. It got better as the game went along."
Despite having taken four points from their last two matches, Daish refused to rule out tinkering once more for their trip to promotion-chasers Wrexham on Saturday.
"It's horses for courses. The way we've played away hasn't been too bad, at home we've struggled. We'll have a look at what Wrexham set up like, and we may change things," he said.
The match also gave club captain Paul Lorraine a chance to make his first start of the season following a wrist injury and Daish emphasised the impact he had made since his comeback.
"He gives the lads a bit of urgency," Daish said. "He's got that in his voice. It's a little bit regimental, a bit like a drill-sergeant.
"People know if they have time or not, or if they've done well. You need that authority in the way you talk to players. Lorro did that.
"I thought he was magnificent for somebody that has been out for so long. He's a credit to himself in the way he's kept himself so fit. He's different class."
