Dundee insist Bonetti will stay
Dundee say Ivano Bonetti will be back next season
Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti is still in Italy
Dundee have moved to dispel speculation that manager Ivano Bonetti is on his way out of the club.

Rumours that Bonetti would not return to Dens Park from Italy have been rife in recent months, but a spokesman for the club insisted on Thursday that was not the case.

Commercial director Jim Connor travelled to Italy to meet Bonetti and chief executive Peter Marr is expected to meet Bonetti once he returns to Scotland to discuss his future.

"We had a meeting with Ivano yesterday (Wednesday) in Italy. It was a good meeting and progress was made on a number of fronts," said the spokesman.

Ketsbaia offer

"Ivano has been working hard over the last few weeks on possible player movement both in and out.

"He has held a meeting with a Serie B chairman who is interested in some of the Dens Park players."

Bonetti has placed a number of fringe players on the transfer list, including Walter del Rio, Massimo Beghetto, Beto Garrido and Kiko Torres.

Reports in Italy earlier in the week had also suggested that Bonetti had approached former San Marino manager Massimo Bonini to be his number two next season.

These remained unconfirmed by the club, who have also offered Georgia international midfielder Temuri Ketsbaia the chance to stay on as player-coach.
