Bonetti denies move rumours
Dundee boss Ivano Bonetti
Bonetti has cleared his office at Dens Park
Dundee manager Ivano Bonetti has strongly denied rumours that he is leaving the club despite moving his belongings out of his Tayside home and office.

The Italian has been at the centre of speculation regarding his future after he began spending more time in his homeland recently.

Bonetti maintains he will be back in Scotland in preparation for pre-season training on 2 July but admits some of the decisions at the club have caused him concern.

He is due to meet club officials this week ostensibly to discuss team matters.

As far as I am concerned I'm still the manager
Ivano Bonetti
Bonetti said: "As far as I am concerned, I'm still the manager and until I'm told that this is not the case I will continue.

"I still want to stay with Dundee. It is up to the club if they want me to leave.

"If they don't want me, they can sack me but I will not be leaving my position at the moment."

Players axed

Bonetti is unhappy with recent cuts to his playing staff after Dundee axed five of his foreign imports last week.

Midfielder Giorgi Nemsadze is also on his way out, with the SPL outfit having received offers from two English clubs for the 30 year-old Georgian international captain.

Bonetti continued: "I am not happy about the fact I have to cut my staff but that doesn't mean I will not come back - absolutely not.".

"Even if they cut everyone and sell every single player, I will be back."

As to why speculation has continued regarding his future with Dundee, Bonetti suggested that it would be better to ask Dens chief executive Peter Marr that question.

"I think it is good that I meet with Peter Marr, and the sooner the better," he said.

"On my side of things, there is no problem but if others want something different at the club then I think it is important that it is done properly."

House move

But Bonetti has defended his decision to leave his home on the outskirts of the city.

Bonetti said: "I took my stuff from the apartment I had because it is on a busy golf course.

"But Dario (Bonetti's brother) still has a house and things inside and when I come back I'll be looking for another apartment."

But despite these claims some newspapers have reported that Dundee will have a new management team in place for next season.

Former boss Jim Duffy has emerged as the leading candidate should Bonetti leave Dens Park.

One possible stumbling block might be the fact that Bonetti made a financial contribution to the deal that saw striker Fabian Caballero sign two years ago.

He may look for financial reimbursement although as Dundee are strapped for cash, the Italian would probably have to make a concession.
