Doncaster Rovers have signed Brazilian defender Dennis Souza.
The 30-year-old has been training with Rovers for a month following the termination of his contract with Al-Sailiya Sports Club in Qatar.
The former Barnsley man has joined Doncaster as a free agent and has agreed to stay at the Keepmoat Stadium until 8 February.
However he will not be able to play for Sean O'Driscoll's side until international clearance is granted.
Meanwhile, former Preston and Norwich winger Simon Whaley is training with Rovers.
The 25-year-old is a free agent after a short-term deal with Chesterfield concluded at the end of last season.
"He's been out of football for some time and had a good pedigree," O'Driscoll told the club's website.
"He just wants to get back and have a feel for football again and that is what he is currently doing."
