Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of unattached Dutch defender Jos van Nieuwstadt on a two-year deal, after he passed his medical.
The 29-year-old played in two successful trial games for Rovers against Newcastle United and Port Vale.
Rovers director of football Mickey Walker told BBC Radio Sheffield: "He's played top-class football throughout his career."
Van Nieuwstadt has played for his country at Under-21 level.
He began his career at Willem II Tilburg in Holland before joining Excelsior Rotterdam where he has played for the past two years.
