Derby County coach Andy Garner believes the squad are more settled than last season and can improve on their 14th-place finish in the Championship.
The Rams begin their season on Saturday with an away game against Leeds United.
And Garner told BBC Radio Derby: "The squad is massively different. We've got some good characters now and got some youth in there as well.
"We have people who want to play for Derby County. Hopefully we can go and have a good season."
