Derby County coach Johnny Metgod says the Rams' results have not been as good as their displays have deserved.
Nigel Clough's side lie 18th in the Championship but Metgod says that does not reflect how they have been playing.
"For example, West Brom away we played really well and ended up losing 3-1," he told BBC East Midlands Today.
"But sometimes that happens. And it's no use saying you deserve more because you get what you get and if you play well and lose then something is wrong."
Metgod, whose side are only four points clear of the drop zone following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Doncaster Rovers, added: "It doesn't really reflect it but we are there and we just have to stay at it.
"I am not that worried about our home form and our home games because every time we needed something we were able to get it.
"But it's away from home where we need to be more solid and when you're not having a good game then you must be able to compete to make it hard for the opposition to create something.
"Against Reading we made it far too easy. They didn't have to do anything to get the ball because we gave it to them."
