Derby have agreed to sign defender Jake Buxton when his contract expires with Burton Albion in the summer.

The 24-year-old, who played for Rams boss Nigel Clough at the Pirelli Stadium, has signed a one-year contract with an option of a further year.

"Jake's attitude is first-class and we hope he will surprise a few people," said the former Brewers boss.

"He does not have the experience at this level but he will make up for that with the desire and heart he has."

"He is one of those lads who will put his body on the line and throw himself at absolutely everything," Clough added.
