Buxton has been one of Burton's most consistent performers this season
Derby County manager Nigel Clough says he may be interested in returning to his former club Burton Albion to sign defender Jake Buxton in the summer.
Clough signed the 24-year-old centre-half from Mansfield at the start of this season when he was Brewers boss.
"Jake has done exceptionally well," Clough told BBC Radio Derby. "And he is one of numerous defenders who we might be interested in.
"When we sit down and go through our lists then you never know."
Buxton started 40 of Burton's 46 league games as they won Blue Square Premier to clinch promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history.
